I am the math specialist at Ahern Middle School and I am currently working on my PhD in mathematics education at Boston College. My interests are in Vygotskian learning theory (e.g., ZPD, guided math, differentiation, student discourse), using concrete manipulatives, debate across the curriculum, math education policy/theory, and student engagement in mathematics.
